Supporting your community goes beyond doing a collection in a small village. Leading by example is Needle + Thraed a brand that works with artisans from the Nakuru Village in Kenya. Partnered with the Bebe Ravi women's foundation they employ 50-100 women offering good working conditions and supporting a community were unemployment reaches 40%. The brand works to reduce carbon footprint, offer jobs, and ensure that every item has the quality the company stands for.
Inspired by Kenyan Culture, the items are made of colourful beads and are the pop of colour you need for any outfit or even in your home. I love this brand because not only do they put out gorgeous items, but the social responsibility element is part of both the production and the purchasing experience. Check out their work below.
